Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy Treatments

With Dr. Stacy’s intuitive approach, she will identify the joint areas of compression and misalignment, allowing her to provide the necessary hands-on corrections for realigning the skeletal system and joint structures. This allows the body to increase its own body awareness while providing the platform for healthier, efficient movement.

Manual and Myofascial Therapy

Manual and Myofascial Therapy

Myofascial Therapy, also known as myofascial release, is a type of physical therapy technique that focuses on the treatment of fascia. The fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, bones, and organs throughout the body. This therapy involves applying gentle and sustained pressure to release tension and restrictions within the fascia. This promotes improved mobility, pain relief, and overall wellness.

Blending manual techniques with myofascial release techniques, creates a unique hands-on approach to realigning the skeletal system. This combination targets opening up of the joint space and releases the abnormal tension that has developed at the fascia, which accumulates over time. This allows the natural mechanics of the body to resurface through our daily movements.

The Body’s Design

The body is organized with its own unique wiring system, we call the nervous system. Receptor sites are located in our joints. These are needed to send the proper signals back and forth between the brain. When the joint is compromised, these signals “turn off” just like a light switch in our home. If the connection is never corrected, the body will find other strategies to bypass the issue and unfortunately create a pathway that is not sustainable, leading to pain and dysfunction. As we age, and continue with these bypass strategies, or survival mechanisms, we begin to experience quicker wear and tear at the joints, leading to arthritis, tension and pinching at the tendons and ligaments, producing inflammation, and microtears at the muscle groups, resulting in prolonged soreness.

This dysfunction leads to pain, which is a natural defense mechanism. Pain tells us something is wrong. We should start listening to our bodies and build back the signals that are precursors to pain, such as stiffness, tension, constant cracking, etc. With manual and myofascial therapy, clients can expect to experience pain relief, improved mobility and range of motion, and stress reduction and an overall sense of relaxation, that results from being connected to ones’ body.
